Special Family Home Evening

School starts tommorow and the kids are super excited. With that in mind we held a special family home evening. We have been itching to go camping or at least hiking, but with gas prices the way they are it hasn't really been an option, but my lovely husband was able to find a trail head that is maybe a mile away from our home. So we took off for our hike and the kids loved it. The trail was on the steep side and we had been going maybe 3 minutes and the kids were already going on about how tired they were and how hard of work this was (they weren't complaining, just trying to make themselves feel tough). Anyway, we made it to a gorgeous spot with a creek running through. We let the kids play awhile, then went to a quieter area where we discussed priesthood blessings and Jaron gave each of the children a father's blessing for the coming school year. Here are a few pics of our adventure.

That was awesome! So glad you could have such a cool family time and find a 'cheap' thing to do, that everyone enjoyed! Good luck with school kids, have a fun time! That was a great thing you did to teach them all about preisthood blessings and then follow up with one...way to go!

What neat pictures! And what a FUN thing to do for Home Evening -- especially with a lesson about blessings. Jaron, what a wonderful thing you did for your kids -- not many fathers remember to do this wonderful thing for their kids. Kudos to all of you!!
We love you LOTS & LOTS. Have a good school year.
