bLAH

I have been terrible at blogging this whole month. I guess the paper route, the classes I am teaching and the kids have just really worn me out. . . to the point that I have hardly even gotten on the computer to check my email. Last night was especially long. Carter started in with his wheezing and couging about 2 days ago and then last night it got to the point where we could no longer control it with the medications we have at home. Luckily, our pediatric clinic is open 24/7 so I didn't have to make the dreaded trip to the E.R. with him. When we got there his O2 sats were at 88. After his first breathing treatment they flucuated between 89 and 91. Another treatment later and we finally got him up to 92-95. The steroids they give him always help immensely. Anyway, I was up with him most of the night, then had to do my paper route. I was exhausted all day and we stayed home from church since Carter had to have frequent breathing treatments all through the day. Hopefully it won't turn into pneumonia.

Lilly is developing a strong personality very quickly. She has learned that if she cries a little bit or "squeaks" at any of her siblings they give her whatever she wants. I am going to have to work really hard to nip that in the bud. Emmy and Carter are much worse than Ashton, they cannot stand to hear her cry or be sad about anything. I have had to start telling her "no" with some stuff and more often than not it will bring Emmy to tears that I have to be "mean" to Lilly.

February will be a busy month for us. Ashton will be turning 4 on the 8th and he is actually aware enough this year to want to have a b-day party (dang it!). Emmy will be 8 on the 17th and will be baptized on the 28th at 1:30 in the afternoon. She will also have her testing for the Spectrum program at school that morning at 11:00. I can't believe I actually have a kid old enough to be baptized. I told her that we were going to get her a set of scriptures for her birthday and she has already picked out the ones she wanted. I had no idea the things were so darned expensive! Oh well, I guess you only turn 8 once!

Well, I am exhausted, so off to bed with me and I will try to be a better blogger in Feb.

THANK YOU, Heather for keeping us posted about the kids. We are so sorry about Carter's breathing problems -- poor little guy, he sure has a tough time with that. Hurry and get to feeling better, Carter! It's so funny about Lily -- Emmy is such a "little Mommy," tho' we're glad they love her so much.
Hang in there, guys!
P.S. Did you get your quilt done?
