Wow! What a move!

We have been settling into our new home in Layton now for a few weeks now. I have to admit this was the most challenging move we have ever made. I had a hysterectomy and then 2 weeks later we moved to Layton, since I wasn't supposed to be lifting anything heavy (including Lilly- who is quite the chunk, or as a sister in my new relief society called "a Healthy Soul!") we had to rely quite heavily on the awesome sisters in my Relief Society to help us pack up and move. Anna and DJ came over and did a ton to help as well.

Jaron drove the big old moving truck with Ashton and I took the other 3 kids and went on ahead in the van. The darn truck wouldn't go above 55 mph so it was a really LONG drive for Jaron. As for me and the other kids, frequent stops to feed Lilly and go potty and eat snacks made for an almost equally long trip. I got within a mile or 2 from our new home when the transmission broke in the van and it would only go in reverse. I was so glad that Brent and Kristi had come to help us unload the truck. They came and picked us up and took us to the house. Later on Brent backed the van down the highway to our home while Kristi followed behind him making sure noone ran him over. I think he was pretty proud of his driving skills getting the van safely to our house.

The next day I broke one of my teeth and had to go into the dentist and found out that the dental work I had been putting off due to finances had resulted in my needing 3 root canals right away or lose my teeth. I like my teeth, so I ended up having 3 root canals. Thank goodness for my mom. I called her the day we were moving in and asked her to come hold the baby for me while I unpacked since I was on the verge of a mental break down. Jaron had to leave right back to Boise to keep working. We aren't sure when his transfer will go through. So here I was with 4 kids in a new place by myself, no car, no internet, and 3 rotten teeth, . Thanks for coming to the rescue mom, and also thanks to the relief society in the Fruit Heights fifth ward.

Our van is fixed now, my teeth are fixed and Jaron is visiting for the weekend. This is the first Fathers Day he has had off since he has been a father. It has been really nice having him around for a little bit. We took the kids to Lagoon yesterday and they had a blast. By the end of the day we were all exhausted and ready to sleep. I wish that I could have taken pictures and posted them, but I haven't been able to find my camera since we moved. As soon as I do I will start to add pictures to my blog.
